Tuscan landscapes are famous all over the world so varied! But one of the most famous is the Chianti landscape! Located between the provinces between Florence and Siena it is a place where nature has been generous and where in turn, it has been respected!
The Chianti landscape is hilly, covered with forests, vineyards and olive groves. Beauty is everywhere, whatever the season. Spring is a perfect time for going out and enjoying the outdoors, as temperatures are warmer and days getting longer. Flowers are in full bloom: wisterias, roses, acacias... In summer, Tuscan landscapes turn yellow with the fields of sunflowers, and vineyards and olive groves crowd the hills and valleys in an elegant succession of various green. It is the time for relaxation and for contemplation of the landscapes nearby a beautiful pool .
In early autumn, this is grape picking season. Villages and hamlets are offering traditional festivals and events, such as the wine festivals in Greve in Chianti or Panzano in Chianti… the leaves are turning red, yellow, and orange: a landscape that has been painted by so many artists and that is today photographed so many times! And later autumn it is the time to pick up the olives!
On top of the hills, there are majestic castles and superb Villas, hiding centuries of history behind oaks and cypress trees. Farmhouses and barns, that are dotting the Tuscan landscapes are also showing a country that has been at work for centuries. And the many small churches or Abbeys to be discovered contain hidden treasures, such as the Pieve di San Leolino or the Abbey of Monte Olivetto, or the Certosa del Galuzzo.

Southern Tuscany remains a relatively undiscovered part of the region, despite its beauty. This area, known as the Maremma, is more wild and less populated than other parts of Tuscany, with a serene countryside and a long coastline of unspoilt beaches. It is dotted with picturesque ‘tufa towns’ whose beauty casts a spell on all who visit – and Etruscan sites still untouched by mass tourism.
Southern Tuscany is the perfect destination for those looking for something authentic, and less branded by tourism. An area with a relaxed pace of life, it has both idyllic countryside and some enchanting coastal towns and unspoilt beaches. This is a destination for the more curious travellers.
There we can enjoy a few hours of the best light, trying to capture the magic of this serene atmosphere, with its cultivated fields, flocks of resting animals, and rural life, or of the ancient medieval villages perched on the hilltops.
